To support the study of Shakespeare on the National Curriculum, Studytrips, in collaboration with our partners, Shakespeare’s Globe, the RSC and Shakespeare’s Birthplace is pleased to offer custom-designed drama workshops, bringing Shakespeare’s work to life. Our fun and educational workshops allow your students new insight into the essence of his work, at the same time as developing their creative vision and encouraging original thought.

  • In partnership with the Globe, our Lively Action workshops, lectures and theatre tours encapsulate the spirit at the core of the Theatre’s vision – that plays should be explored practically rather than read passively as texts.

  • Based on a play of your choice, this theatre tour and 90 minute session explores the theatre space and its influence on playing style and language. This workshop can be used to support work in Theatre Studies and English Literature, focusing on:

    • The relationship between text and performance
    • How theatre is affected by cultural and social influences
    • How language and form shape meaning
  • In this 90 minute session students approach Shakespeare’s plays through the context of the Globe playhouse. Through practical exploration, students are encouraged to develop an understanding of Shakespeare’s characters and stories, and to engage with the text as a script for performance. Includes a guided tour of the theatre
